About us:

Operational Services provides a catering, housekeeping, ward support and fire safety and security service to the entire Gladstone Hospital facility and surrounds. The Fire Safety and Security function includes the provision of a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff as well attending to all aspects of Fire Safety which includes responding to calls for support, codes, and the management of aggression.

About the role:
Conduct both vehicle mounted and foot patrols of all internal and external areas of the Gladstone Hospital facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors, and patients.
Provide traffic management throughout the car parks when required on site to achieve compliance with all users.
Maintain a positive strong security presence in and around the Gladstone Hospital facilities including regular patrols and welfare checks as appropriate.
Provide staff escorts at shift changes or as requested and maintain the functionality or service providing CCTV and its dispersal as per operating procedures.
Complete lock up checks of all buildings and internal and external areas on the Gladstone Hospital facilities at allocated times
Provide areas access for staff throughout the facilities when appropriate.
Control conduct and traffic management on Health Service land as per Part 8 Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011.
About you:
A Certificate II in Security Operations (or equivalent) qualification is a mandatory requirement of this position.
Well-developed knowledge in the methods, techniques and procedures involved with the provision of Fire Safety and Security services within a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated successful communication, oral and written (both hard copy and electronic) skills relevant to the position, including conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise work commitments and manage time effectively.
What we offer:
An hourly rate between $42.52 - $44.57 p.h. (Incl 25% casual loading)
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading
