About You

Level 6

You bring relevant qualifications and/or experience in administration, program, or project management. A background in research grant support will be highly regarded.

You communicate clearly and effectively—both in writing and in person—and you're confident interpreting and applying complex policies and procedures. You're comfortable using standard office software and are efficient in handling information management systems, especially when delivering high-volume, client-focused services.

You're known for your professionalism and ability to deliver high-quality, customer-focused support, even when working under tight deadlines. You also understand and are committed to UNSW’s goals, values, and policies. Additionally, you take your health and safety responsibilities seriously—both psychological and physical—and are committed to staying informed through relevant training.

Level 7 (In addition to Level 6)

You are an experienced research funding professional with a strong track record in managing complex grants and providing high-level, strategic advice. You’ll bring deep expertise in interpreting research policies, resolving intricate funding issues, and recommending policy improvements where needed. Your financial acumen enables you to confidently manage budgets and perform advanced calculations, while your proactive approach drives continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.

In this role, you’ll also mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. You’ll work closely with management to implement quality assurance processes and identify risk areas in research, offering practical solutions. As a recognised expert in a designated portfolio of granting body rules and legislation, you’ll be a trusted advisor to both research staff and Grants Officers, ensuring compliance and excellence in research funding support.
