This role is ideal for someone with experience working with local councils and state governments, who understands regulatory processes, stakeholder management, and policy advocacy, and can support the implementation of government relations and public affairs strategies.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are passionate about micromobility, urban planning, and sustainability, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of 3KM’s Government Relations strategy, engaging with local councils, state governments, transport authorities, and federal regulators.
Lead engagement efforts with city regulators and policy decision-makers, serving as a key liaison between 3KM and government stakeholders.
Monitor, analyse, and report on legislative, policy, and regulatory developments, ensuring 3KM is well-positioned to navigate and influence industry changes.
Develop advocacy materials, briefing documents, and policy submissions to advance micromobility-friendly regulations.
Work with policymakers to support progressive urban mobility policies, advocating for favourable regulatory conditions for 3KM’s expansion.

2. Local Council State Government Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with local councils and state governments, ensuring alignment between 3KM’s operations and regulatory requirements.
Advocate for micromobility-friendly policies at the local and state level, ensuring sustainable and fair regulatory frameworks.
Lead grassroots advocacy efforts, working with community groups and stakeholders to build local support for micromobility initiatives.
Assist in securing permits, licences, and operational approvals by working with local councils, state departments, and transport agencies.

3. Stakeholder Engagement Campaigns

Develop and execute government and public affairs campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and policy support for micromobility.
Work with stakeholders across government, business, and community organisations to foster partnerships that promote 3KM’s growth.
Coordinate with industry groups, advocacy organisations, and transport policy networks to support strategic partnerships.
Represent 3KM at government meetings, industry conferences, and regulatory discussions, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable urban mobility.
Assist in organising public consultation events, community engagement sessions, and policy roundtables to build support for micromobility expansion.

4. Expansion Market Entry Support

Support the Head of Expansions and Government Affairs in identifying new market opportunities and regulatory pathways for entry across Australia and New Zealand.
Contribute to tender applications, proposals, and regulatory filings to secure new operating permits.
Assist in navigating the complexities of local, state, and federal regulatory landscapes, ensuring smooth market expansion.
Support policy negotiations and strategy development for securing favourable conditions for micromobility operations.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Strategy, and Communications teams to ensure government relations efforts align with business objectives.
Provide regulatory insights and strategic input into expansion planning, public relations campaigns, and market positioning.
Develop internal reports and policy briefings to support senior leadership in decision-making on government affairs and public policy issues.
