Your role
This is an opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join the Global Banking COO team as a business manager, supporting the GB Americas Financing businesses, as well as the broader GB COO team.
The objective of the job is to support the Global Banking Businesses in the efficient and effective running of the business including both strategic business planning, the Front-to-Back ("FTB") control environment, drive and contribute to various change / business enabling initiatives, including integration work to support UBS’s acquisition of Credit Suisse.
As a member of the wider Global Banking COO function, you will also work closely with the business managers on cross-collaborative projects across the wider firm and in other product verticals within Global Banking APAC and EMEA, where needed.
The scope of the work you will carry out includes:
maintaining the operating effectiveness and integrity of the FTB control environment by working with key stakeholders and control functions on both strategic and day-to-day issues
monitoring the various control processes to ensure adherence to a robust control environment through periodic risk assessments and regular key metrics reporting
ensuring that the financial MIS used to manage the business is correct and timely
working in collaboration with business heads in developing the strategic plans and budgets
production of management and business presentations as needed
serve as business project manager for new business initiatives and complex transaction approvals within product areas of responsibility
costs management, including conferences and other non-personnel costs
reporting and controlling non comp HR data including headcount and organization
ongoing Credit Suisse integration initiatives that support Global Banking’s Financing businesses

Your expertise
ideally 4+ years of experience within one or more of the following roles is highly desirable:
o investment Bank COO or business management
o investment Bank Front Office
o major Accounting or Management Consulting Firm with specialization in Banking or Finance sectors
o investment Bank Product Control and Business Risk Management
knowledge of debt securities and other credit products and structures essential
ability to understand new issues and processes quickly and determine priorities based on business need and benefit
strong focus, drive, and commitment with proven track record in getting jobs done on time and to a high standard
strong understanding of data analytics and management information to drive decision-making through automation and efficiency
excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Power Point and Excel
facilitation and co-ordination skills with the ability to manage busy, high-priority workload with tight deadlines
strong interpersonal skills; comfortable in facing off to people at all levels of seniority; good at building a network of contacts across the business, logistics and control functions and within the business management team
