Glazing Support Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Glazing Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential support in the installation, fabrication, and finishing of glass and related materials for various projects. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of construction projects, from remodeling to new builds, utilizing your skills in glazing, and general construction support.
Duties
Provide support for glass installation, including handling, cutting, and fitting glass panels according to project specifications
Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute plans
Create and update cut sheets
Create and modify AutoCAD data to support design and functionality changes, product/quality improvements, new product launches, and cost reduction initiatives
Develop drawings as per customers requirements and provide detailed solution and present options for customer decision and approval
Conduct analysis of designs using internal tools and ensure each design follows the required specifications
Modify/redesign existing product to solve issues with standard company products
Maintain and continuously develop knowledge of the latest production techniques
Ensure quality control during production, to eliminate product deficiencies, reduce product cost, and improve product quality
Check and test sample parts sent by manufacturer to ensure product quality standards, communicate and document issues to manufacturer when parts don’t meet requirements
Implement new ideas and methods to contribute to cost reduction, increasing productivity and improving efficiency for the organization
Perform quality check to identify defects and communicate to Management for solution
Communicate concepts and ideas through verbal, visual, and written means
Examine appropriate materials and production for product
Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine if a design is practical
Research and plan out how the product and system will be used throughout the entire process, how will parts be assembled, how will installers put up the product and how will the client/user interact with said product
Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Must be or must become familiar with the Ontario Building Code and ensure details comply
Establish and maintain procedures and systems and ensure compliance with regulations and laws
Travel to sites when required
Experience
AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience a must
Microsoft Dynamics experience
Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, or related roles within the construction or manufacturing industries
Hands-on experience with glass installation, fabrication, or metal framing on commercial or residential sites
Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and schematics for precise work execution
Knowledge of carpentry disciplines such as frame carpentry, trim carpentry, door hanging, and cabinetry installation
Prior handyman experience or general construction site experience is highly desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during assembly or remodeling projects
Experience working with schematics or technical drawings related to glazing or fixture installation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
