Job Description
An established New Plymouth medical centre is looking for a General Practitioner to join its clinical team as a long-standing GP reduces their clinical commitment.
This creates an excellent opportunity for an incoming doctor to step into an established patient list, providing continuity of care rather than having to build a patient base from scratch.
The practice is ideally looking for a GP who can work approximately 6–8 sessions per week, with some flexibility available around days and hours for the right doctor.
The Opportunity
This is a long-term position within a well-established community practice where continuity of care and strong patient relationships are genuinely valued.
You'll work alongside an experienced primary care team and have the support needed to settle into the practice and take over an existing patient population.
The role offers:
Approximately 6–8 sessions per week
Monday–Friday working week
Attractive hourly rate
No regular weekend requirement
Flexibility around working days
Experienced nursing support
Established reception and practice management team
Opportunity to develop or continue areas of special clinical interest
Long-term career stability
Employee or Contractor
The practice is open to discussing either an employee or independent contractor arrangement, depending on the doctor's preferred way of working.
Remuneration will be negotiated individually based on experience, registration status, number of sessions and the agreed arrangement.
