General Manager - Restaurant

The Nitty Gritty is a Madison area tradition since 1968. We looking for a restaurant professional to join our management team. We have a very experienced and long-tenured existing management team, just need to add the right person to join the mix.

We are a restaurant first and foremost, but we do have steady bar business as well. Hours for this job will be days and nights. Primary duties are running the restaurant floor from the front of the house, typical HR duties, facilities oversight and customer engagement. You will also oversee kitchen quality and facility management. About half of the hours will be greeting guests, supervising staff and ensuring a positive experience for our customers and employees.

The Sun Prairie neighborhood is great and we are a faster-paced fun place. We are best known for award winning burgers, birthday celebrations and being super friendly. We have a great beer list, craft cocktails and an approachable tavern style menu.

The work week is 5 or 6 days (your choice), with a typical focus on 4 evenings per week. Our managers work about 48 hours per week. There is scheduling flexibility, as we do have a good team of managerial professionals to share the load.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
