About the Opportunity
The General Labourer (Yard Hand) supports the day-to-day operations of our workshop, working alongside trade-qualified mechanics to help keep the City of Adelaide’s plant and fleet maintained, organised and ready for work.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll assist mechanics with servicing, repairs and maintenance activities while helping the workshop run smoothly. You’ll be responsible for tasks such as collecting and delivering parts and equipment, helping prepare materials for maintenance work and keeping the workshop and yard areas clean, organised and safe.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you’ll play an important role in supporting workshop operations and ensuring tools, equipment and work areas are ready for use. The role also involves communicating with team members, assisting with general workshop needs and helping maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Safety is a key priority, and all work is carried out in line with Work Health and Safety requirements, City of Adelaide policies and relevant legislation. You’ll also take part in regular performance and development discussions and contribute to a team culture that values reliability, teamwork and respect.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
C Class Driver’s License
Forklift License (desirable)
Sound practical knowledge of the fundamental nature of a Working Depot, practices and procedures in plant operations and general yard duties.
Self-motivated, results oriented and able to initiate actions to ensure objectives are achieved.
Demonstrated high level skills in dealing confidently and courteously with people both internally and externally.
Effective written and communication skills.

Please be advised this is a part time 0.39FTE, permanent role with a starting salary at the CSE Grade 1 Classification commencing at $64,137 (1FTE equivalent) / $25,013 (pro rata figure) + 12% superannuation.
