General Laborer / Road Construction
Job Description
· Operating hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
· Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
· Helping equipment operators and other skilled labor when necessary.
· Cleaning and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials.
· Loading, unloading, or identifying building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
· Digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
· Perform site activities required of green certified construction practices, such as implementing waste management procedures, identifying materials for reuse, or installing erosion or sedimentation control mechanisms.
· Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
· Following instructions from supervisors.
· Performing site clean-up.
As a CONSTRUCTION GENERAL LABORER, you’ll need:
· To be at least 18 years of age
· A high school diploma or equivalent

Applicants must be available to work any day of the week and any shift. Shifts can range anywhere from 40 hours a week in the slower months to 60 hours a week in the busier summer months. Are you willing and able to work this schedule?
At times our crews have to work in inclement weather. Are you willing and able to work in inclement weather (hot and cold)?
At times, this position's duties may include but are not limited to digging, using a broom, lifting heavy objects and various other manual labor tasks? Are you willing and able to perform the duties of the job.
