Job Description

As General Counsel, Employment Law, you will provide practical legal advice to Rockwell Automation's Human Resources function and business leaders in a wide variety of employment law matters.

The General Counsel, Employment Law leads the employment law team and partners closely with colleagues in Rockwell's Office of General Counsel globally on labor and employment law matters. The General Counsel, Employment Law will counsel stakeholders regarding matters arising throughout the employee life-cycle, including, for example, background checks, accommodations and leaves of absence, and discipline and termination decisions. The General Counsel, Employment Law will also provide guidance to the HR leadership team in developing and implementing global and local strategies to support compliance and risk mitigation. The Essentials - You Will Have
• A Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent from an accredited law school (either U.S. or foreign jurisdiction) and all required licensing and credentials to serve as a practicing lawyer in Wisconsin.
• Admission in good standing to the bar of at least one state in the United States
• Legal authorization to work in the United States. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have
• Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of law firm or in-house experience, including in employment law.
• Experience providing proactive counseling to business leaders.
• Experience defending against agency and federal court claims.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience advising a global company.
• Sound legal and business judgment and the ability to balance risk with legal and business considerations.
• Prioritize developing relationships and trust with stakeholders.
