Join our dynamic team as a Gas Station Attendant and Cashier, where you'll be the friendly face customers rely on for a seamless fueling and shopping experience. In this energetic role, you'll handle daily operations at the pump and register, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for all patrons while maintaining store standards and safety protocols. This is a night shift schedule to work in Detroit .
Duties
Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
Operate cash registers accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and receipts with precision.
Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and conducting product demos when appropriate.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gas station area, including stocking shelves, merchandising products, and ensuring supplies are available.
Upsell convenience items or promotions to enhance sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences.
Enforce safety procedures at the pump area, including monitoring for hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, assisting with stocking duties, and reporting low supplies to management.
Demonstrate effective communication skills with customers and team members, including phone etiquette for inquiries or assistance requests.
Assist with supervising other team members when needed, contributing to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are an advantage to serve diverse customers.
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations.
Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is beneficial for understanding merchandising and stocking procedures.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
Supervising experience is desirable but not required; leadership qualities are valued for team support roles.
Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, and work flexible hours including evenings or weekends.
