Job Description
At Mitre10 MEGA Taupo, helping Kiwis create better homes and gardens is what we do best. We're now looking for a passionate, knowledgeable plant lover to join our Garden Centre team.
If horticulture is more than just an interest and you enjoy working outdoors, this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for the following team working between 24 to 32 hours per week and may be some flexibility.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role based in our Garden Centre, where you'll work with a wide range of plants, products, and customers. Your horticultural knowledge will be key in helping customers choose the right plants and care solutions for their gardens.
Key Responsibilities
Providing expert advice on plants, plant care, and gardening solutions
Sharing your horticultural knowledge to help customers succeed in their gardens
Maintaining plant health, quality, and presentation
Watering, pruning, and general plant care
Merchandising, pricing, and stock rotation
Delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service
Working safely and efficiently in an outdoor retail environment
What You'll Bring
A genuine passion for plants and gardening
Experience in a garden centre, nursery, or horticulture role (preferred)
Confidence identifying plants and advising on care and seasonal needs
A positive, customer-focused attitude
Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required
