Fullstack Developer, Ecosystem & Platform- job post Synode
Job Description
About Synode
Synode builds a 3D asset management platform that transforms industrial CAD and engineering files into browser-native and XR-ready applications. Our tools (Builder, Visualizer, Configurator, Localizer) serve manufacturing, automotive, and electronics clients, turning static engineering data into interactive apps used across the shop floor and in the field.
We're scaling from a service-driven model into a self-serve platform with a growing developer and partner ecosystem, and we're looking for an experienced fullstack developer to help lead that transformation.
The Role
This is a key hire for Synode. You'll own the technical backbone of our platform and partner ecosystem: the connectivity between Synode and outside systems, and the infrastructure that lets third parties extend and build on top of what we offer.
You'll work closely with our 3D programmers on integration points between the platform layer and the core engine, and you'll be a driving force behind our developer docs and partnership programs as we grow our ecosystem of integrations and partners.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain integrations and connectivity between Synode's core platform and external systems and tools
Design and implement an extensibility framework that lets third parties build on top of Synode
Own public-facing developer documentation and tooling
Architect monetization infrastructure for a partner ecosystem
Collaborate directly with Synode's 3D programmers on the boundary between platform and core engine
Help shape Synode's partnership program as we recruit and onboard ecosystem partners
What We're Looking For
Significant experience as a fullstack developer, ideally having built or contributed to a developer platform, plugin ecosystem, or app-marketplace-style product
Experience in the 3D/CAD world: you understand engineering file formats, CAD workflows, or 3D asset pipelines
Experience with payment systems, particularly credit-based or revenue-share/marketplace payment models
Experience with addon/plugin development and integration (building the system that lets others extend a product, not just building features yourself)
Strong API design and documentation instincts: you know what makes a public API and its docs genuinely usable by outside developers
Comfort working cross-functionally with 3D/graphics engineers, even if 3D isn't your primary specialty
Technical Requirements
Modern JS/TS fullstack (Node.js backend, React or similar frontend)
REST and/or GraphQL API design: authentication, rate limiting, versioning
Familiarity with CAD file formats/interchange standards (e.g. STEP, IGES) and/or CAD plugin/API development (e.g. SolidWorks API, Inventor API)
Comfort working alongside a WebGL/Three.js-based rendering core
Understanding of 3D asset pipelines (geometry, textures, versioning)
Experience designing an SDK or scripting API for third-party extensions: sandboxing, permissioning, versioning without breaking existing integrations
Experience with API documentation tooling (OpenAPI/Swagger or equivalent)
Experience integrating a payments processor for credit-based/wallet-style systems
Experience with revenue-share/marketplace payment logic (split payments, payout tracking)
Cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker), CI/CD
On-premise deployment experience is a plus
Why Synode
You'll be one of the people who defines how Synode's ecosystem takes shape,
