Full Stack Developer- job post MetricAid
Job Description
About MetricAid
MetricAid builds physician scheduling software that hospitals actually rely on. Founded by an emergency department chief to solve his own department's scheduling, we've grown from a handful of Ontario hospitals to 170+ organizations on four continents. Our demand-aligned, preference-based scheduling reduces patient wait times and physician burnout. The schedule we produce every night decides who is standing in an emergency department tomorrow. Reliability isn't a slogan here; it's a clinical dependency.
We're a small, senior team in the middle of an ambitious platform modernization: decomposing a proven monolith into Go services, with an external engineering partner accelerating delivery. You'd be joining a product with real users, real constraints, and no shortage of decisions still to make.
The Role
You'll build across the whole product: the React web application schedulers live in all day, the React Native app physicians carry in their pockets, and the Go services and PostgreSQL databases underneath both. This is genuinely full-stack, not a frontend role with an API on the side.
You'll also help move the platform forward. A significant part of the work is migrating capability off the legacy system onto the modern stack without disrupting hospitals that are using it right now. That means you'll spend real time understanding code you didn't write before replacing it, and you'll be judged on whether the replacement is at least as good as what it displaced.
You'll work directly with the CTO, our Product Owner, and the rest of a small engineering team. The team is small enough that what you ship is visible and what you decide sticks.
