Role Description The Freelance Editor role at Spark Ideas & Consult is a temporary, remote position focused on polishing and refining written materials for a variety of clients and projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drafts for clarity, coherence, grammar, and style; ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and project objectives; and suggesting revisions to improve structure, tone, and overall impact. The Freelance Editor will collaborate with writers, consultants, and project managers, providing constructive feedback and aligning edits with client expectations and deadlines. This role also involves fact-checking, light research to verify accuracy, and preparing content for publication across digital and print formats.
Qualifications
• Strong editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to improve clarity, grammar, style, and consistency.
• Experience in content development, including writing and revising materials for various formats such as reports, articles, and marketing collateral.
• Ability to conduct basic research and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and reliability of content.
• Familiarity with digital tools for remote collaboration, document sharing, and version control.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting.
• Previous freelance or consulting experience in editing or communications is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
