Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Residential. Building construction materials. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Supervise other workers. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Construct timber supports and cribbing. Instrument experience: Precision measuring instrument. Area of work experience: Framing and shingling. Construction specialization: Retaining walls. Parts specialization: Carpentry/woodworking machinery. Area of specialization: Siding. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
