About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Forest Manager to join our team in Rotorua covering the wider Waikato region. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our forestry management operations. This is a full-time position that requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to health and safety.
What you'll be doing
Develop and implement forestry plans to meet production targets and ensure optimal utilisation of forestry resources
Manage and coordinate crews, including monitoring performance, providing guidance and training, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
Liaise with landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless coordination of forestry activities
Monitor and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions
Ensure that all forestry operations are conducted in compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and the company's policies and procedures
Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the sustainability of our forestry operations
What we're looking for
Experience (3+ years) in a similar role within the forestry or horticulture industry
Demonstrated expertise in forestry operations, including the use of specialised equipment and machinery
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Proficient in data analysis and the use of relevant software and technology to support decision-making
Commitment to health and safety, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols
