Role Overview

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking an experienced Forest Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operational forest management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of plans and programs, ensuring safe work practices and effective deployment of staff.

In this role, you will play a critical part in leading and managing staff engaged in forest and fire operations activities. Your expertise in operational forest management, emergency response, and staff management will be instrumental in delivering a wide range of operational tasks and fire prevention activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage works programs in planned burning, unsealed road management, or other operational forest management activities.
Experience in management of staff, including leadership and day-to-day management.
Emergency response activities, including experience in forest firefighting techniques and the Australian Interagency Incident Management System.
Requirements:

Current manual Drivers Licence.
