Food Service Worker

Do you love to food? Are you passionate about making someone's day? We are seeking a Food Service Worker to join the team at the incredibly special Brigadoon Village in Alyesdord, NS.


Brigadoon Village is a non-profit recreational facility that delivers year-round camp programming that seeks to passionately transform the lives of Atlantic Canadian children and youth living with health conditions and other life challenges. We help them reach their full potential through experiential learning, meaningful connections and exceptional fun.


This is a casual position with full time hours in the Spring and Summer. The position will shift to casual, on-call during the winter months, and return to full time in Spring and Summer. The starting wage for this position is $17.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities
Deliver an exceptional experience for our beloved campers and staff at Camp Brigadoon
Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
Use and care of kitchen equipment
Maintain clean working area
Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience in food service considered an asset
Must have intermediate understanding of the English language
Kind, curteous, hospitality-focused attitude
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
