MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who has the following skills and experience:
Responsibilities:
• Carry out fire assay procedures in accordance with documented SOP’s or recognized standard reference methods.
• Report any deviation from documented procedures to the Fire Assay Supervisor and that approval is obtained prior to reporting any analytical result.
• Inform the Fire Assay Supervisor of any non-conforming event related to customer samples, analytical testing or other laboratory operations.
• Follow all HSE protocols.
• Inform the Fire Assay Supervisor of any unsafe conditions in the department.
• Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure proper functioning of fire assay operations by:
• Monitoring the performance of the instruments.
• Ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory consumable supplies and chemicals.
• Practicing good housekeeping.
• Communicate general laboratory issues to the fire assay supervisor as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
• Submit to testing for lead exposure on a regular basis.
Requirements
• 1-3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory
• Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Excellent Communication skills (written and spoken) in English.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Detail orientated and ability to work very well under pressure.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
