Financial Crimes Advisor(Job Number: 250000GG)

You would be responsible for developing and executing Financial Crimes investigations and remediation procedures within RACQ Bank including reporting and transaction analysis/investigation of external fraud on member accounts. The role also encompasses contributing to enhancing Fraud and Scam mitigation processes/controls, with a focus on enhancements and efficiencies, as well as the development of reporting and training.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of fraud-related processes across the Bank (e.g. disputed transactions).
Enhance and lead investigation and monitoring practices on financial crimes and relevant fraud matters including Internal and external internet banking fraud; Direct Debit, Cheque and Bpay fraud claims; Unauthorised Visa and Redicard transactions and ATM withdrawals guidelines.
Develop and deliver insightful, trend analysis-based reporting to appropriate forums and committees.
Provide input and review over applicable business risk registers for appropriate management and documentation of external Fraud risk
Assessing all fraud claims and coordinating member reimbursements and write-offs.
Effectively utilising RACQ Bank policy, Visa International policy and EPayments Code by way of chargebacks for the recovery of fraud losses.
Produce and maintain reports on customer disputes and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual fraud loss statistics.
Provides financial crimes support to members with a focus on appropriate outcomes for the Bank.
Identify emerging fraud trends and is in informed by industry standards and practices.
About you:
3+ years’ experience in a fraud monitoring and investigative role, including financial crimes, AML monitoring and cyber-crime in a financial services institution (or equivalent).
Experience in interpreting and applying legislation such as National Privacy Principles, EPayments Code, AML/CTF Act etc. to business processes.
Proven ability in making an impact, gaining agreement, negotiating, persuading, convincing, promoting ideas, managing conflict.
A thorough understanding of general banking and finance processes
Reporting and communication skills in expressing opinions, making presentations, responding to an audience, and showing credibility.
