Kulfi brings together talent, tech and data to create and distribute muti-format, multi-platform content for GenY and GenZ audiences in India and across the world. Kulfi operates through three verticals - Supari Studios (brand solutions), Post Office (immersive & digital experiences) and Keeda Media (original IPs).
Over the last ten years, Kulfi has produced more than 10,000 minutes of content that has been viewed over two billion times online for some of the most ambitious brands and platforms in the world such as Red Bull, Google, Audible, Netflix, Tinder, Spotify and Flipkart among others.

We are looking for a Finance Manager who shares our passion for shaping culture by combining talent, tech and data and building strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders globally. This person will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the financial operations of Kulfi’s 3 core verticals (Supari Studios, Post Office and Keeda Media).
A day in the life of a Finance Manager
• Accounts
• Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action
• Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
• Making payments and receipts as necessary for the business and recording them in accounting software in a timely manner
• Ensure outlined procedures in the Finance Policy are adhered to while making any payments (or) receiving funds
• Make necessary journal entries as appropriate for accounting as per standard procedures
• Ensure necessary documents are maintained for any transactions that are accounted in the software
• Be a part of the process change which affects the finance function as such and help in implementation of new processes
• Ready to adapt to technological changes in the field
• Banking
• Understand the processes relating to the bank transactions
• Interacting and co-ordinating with bank branch for the work
• Preparing bank reconciliation statements as per the defined frequency
• Understand the relationship with various financial institutions and help develop the same even further
• Ensure timely repayment of borrowed funds in accordance with the EMI schedule and ensure proper accounting of the same in the accounting software
• Audit
• Prepare periodic financial statements in accordance with the Indian GAAPs and other relevant laws and regulations
• Manage and handle the ongoing communication with Auditor’s office and build rapport as a single point of contact
• Coordinate in case of periodic audit visits done by auditor’s office and provide them with necessary information, documentation as necessary for completion of timely audit
• Finance, Compliance and Tax
• Scrutinize trade receivables for overdue amounts and follow-up for the collection
• Maintain debtors aging MoM
• Scrutinize trade payables and ensure that there are no inconsistencies in the vendor payments
• Develop thorough knowledge of Direct and Indirect taxes by getting involved with the team during monthly compliances and annual audits
• Filing of various periodic returns relating to direct and indirect taxes like TDS returns, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GST Annual Returns and the like.
• Helps in creating MIS for reporting to the Management and Investors
What does success look like
• Reduction in time and efforts of the function head in:
• Day-to-day accounting processes like keeping checks and balances for the entries passed in the system, journal entries, payroll processing and accounting, GST accounting, direct taxes and TDS accounting etc.
• Regulatory compliances
• Financial reporting like periodic MIS reporting, receivables aging, payables aging, project profitability report etc.
• Preparation of complete set of financial statements (BS, P&L, CF etc.) including consolidation and getting them audited
• Timely and accurate compliances - Ensure that all the regulatory compliances like audits, direct tax returns, indirect tax returns, company and labor law compliances are done timely and accurately
Qualities and skill sets we would like for you to showcase
• A Chartered Accountant with 0-2 years of experience in accounting and finance, or commerce graduate with 3 - 5 yrs of work experience in accounting and finance
• Experience in managing and handling teams, with excellent leadership skills
• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
• Experience with accounting software like SAP would be helpful
• Knowledge of MS Excel (specifically advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts)
• Being well-versed with the accounting standards, finance, taxation and allied laws impacting the business and industry
• Familiarity with forecasting methods and data analysis
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of accounting best practices and regulations
• Excellent ability to organize and coordinate tasks
• Compatibility for both independent and team work
