Job Description

The Finance & Accounts Controller will be responsible for managing the complete finance and accounting function of the manufacturing unit. The role requires a hands‑on finance professional with strong manufacturing exposure who can drive cost control, optimize cash flow, ensure statutory compliance, and provide accurate financial insights to management.

The ideal candidate should possess practical experience in factory finance operations, inventory controls, cost accounting, banking, and working capital management within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Cash Flow Management
• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow requirements.
• Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and projections to ensure continuous liquidity.
• Monitor working capital and maintain a cash‑positive operating position.
• Support management with financial planning and decision‑making.

Banking & Treasury Management
• Manage banking relationships and coordinate with financial institutions.
• Handle banking facilities, documentation, renewals, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor fund utilization and optimize borrowing costs.
• Manage foreign inward remittances, export proceeds, and treasury activities.
• Evaluate and monitor foreign exchange exposure and hedging requirements.

Cost Accounting & Profitability Analysis
• Develop and maintain accurate product costing models.
• Prepare and update product cost sheets linked to BOMs.
• Conduct variance analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Establish, monitor, and report cost‑saving initiatives across departments.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, overheads, and operational efficiencies.

MIS & Financial Reporting
• Prepare Monthly MIS reports and present key financial insights to management.
• Generate profitability, cash flow, cost, inventory, and variance reports.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Support strategic planning through financial analysis and performance monitoring.

Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ledger management.
• Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely closure of accounts.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
• Maintain financial records in compliance with accounting standards.

Inventory & Stores Control
• Monitor inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, semi‑finished, and finished goods.
• Conduct inventory reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Coordinate physical stock verification and inventory audits.
• Strengthen inventory controls and reporting systems.

Statutory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other applicable regulations.
• Monitor contract labour compliance and related statutory obligations.
• Ensure timely filing of returns and statutory payments.
• Liaise with consultants and regulatory authorities as required.

Audits & Internal Controls
• Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and bank audits.
• Ensure availability and accuracy of audit documentation.
• Implement robust financial controls and compliance processes.
• Address audit observations and ensure timely closure.

Procurement & Vendor Finance
• Monitor vendor payments and credit terms.
• Review purchase orders and procurement controls.
• Support procurement decisions through financial evaluation and cost analysis.
• Strengthen financial governance within purchasing processes.

CAPEX & Project Finance Support
• Prepare documentation for term loans, working capital facilities, and CAPEX financing.
• Support management with project feasibility and financial assessments.
• Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for project funding requirements.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory Requirements
• Minimum 8 years of Finance & Accounts experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on exposure to factory finance operations is mandatory.
• Candidates without manufacturing finance experience will not be considered.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing MIS.
• Experience managing cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, taxation, and audit processes.

Preferred Industry Experience
• Automotive plastics manufacturing.
• Plastic moulding, painting, decoration, and assembly operations.
• High‑volume manufacturing environments.
• Contract labour‑intensive manufacturing units.

Educational Qualifications
• CMA preferred.
• M.Com preferred.
• CA Inter or equivalent finance qualification may also be considered.
