About Mission Rabies
Mission Rabies began in Goa in 2013, growing into a comprehensive public health initiative. Mission Rabies has now completed two years of rabies control activities with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Veterinary Health Department (BMC VHD). Mission Rabies is now forming a Rabies Response Team (RRT) in Mumbai for which we are looking for a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate successfully with a variety of stakeholders to join the team in July 2026.
About Annual Mass Vaccination Drive
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai is conducting a mass vaccination drive covering vaccinating the dogs of all wards in Mumbai through partner nonprofits. Several teams will be on-field vaccinating street dogs every day based on areas allotted to them. The drive shall be conducted over a period of 5 months (October 2026 – February 2026) where a follow-up survey team shall visit the same areas the day after the vaccination day to conduct a survey of the number of dogs vaccinated vis-à-vis number of dogs unvaccinated. Each vaccinated dog is marked with a non-toxic colour on the head to make it visually easy to note a vaccinated dog.
Job Description:
· Conducting surveys in areas where vaccination teams have visited and conducted anti-rabies vaccination drives to collect data pertaining to number of dogs vaccinated
· Using the Mission Rabies WVS app to enter + collect data on-field
Educational Qualifications:
All individuals will be considered based on their inclination towards nonprofit work and the social sector. On-the-job training will be provided for technical matters involved in the scope of work, but we expect the candidate to be a team player. Candidate should be fluent in Marathi and Hindi.
Expectations:
The work is primarily on-field and requires the candidate to walk in assigned areas for 7-8 hours a day with 1 day of the week being a leave.
The job is temporary for a fixed term of 5 months from October 2026 to February 2026
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000 P.M.
