The brand is deeply connected to its origins, fostering creativity while enhancing the unique identity of every 'Woman of TJS'.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a designer-merchandiser who is equal parts creative and commercial: someone who can build collections that are beautiful on the eye and intelligent on the P&L.This is a founding team-level role. You will own the product calendar end-to-end from trend interpretation and fabric sourcing to range planning, sampling, and launch. You will work directly with the founders and the marketing team, with real say in what we build and how we tell its story.What will you ownBuild seasonal and occasion-led collections across our core categories: daily ethnic, festive, and occasion wear anchored in natural handcrafted fabricsDrive the full product development cycle: concept mood board fabric swatch sampling revision production-ready specLead range planning and open-to-buy management: assortment width, depth, pricing tiers, and style-level contribution margin disciplineOwn the supplier and artisan ecosystem in Rajasthan identify new craft clusters, negotiate pricing, and maintain quality at scaleWork closely with the marketing team to develop product narratives, PDP copy direction, and campaign briefs for each launchAnalyse category performance data (sell-through, returns, ROAS by style) and feed learnings back into the next product cycleTrack Indian ethnic wear trends across Instagram, trade shows (Lakme, India International Garment Fair), and Tier 1 offline retailManage the production calendar tightly against the Indian festival and gifting cycleYou should apply ifYou have 36 years in fashion design and/or buying & merchandising, with hands-on experience in Indian ethnic wear daily wear, festive, or occasionYou understand handcraft techniques: block printing, natural dyeing, hand embroidery, weaves you can walk a production floor and spot a quality issueYou think in spreadsheets as naturally as you think in sketchbooks OTB, contribution margin, and sell-through rate are not foreign wordsYou have sourced fabrics or finishes from Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Sanganer, or comparable clusters and have working vendor relationshipsYou've worked in a D2C or fast-moving online brand and understand how product decisions ripple into digital marketing performanceYou are a strong communicator in Hindi and English you will brief artisans, write product names, and sit in cross-functional reviews in the same week
