About Aruwa Fashion
Aruwa Fashion is a fast-growing women's fashion brand focused on creating stylish, comfortable, and value-driven clothing for Indian women. Our product range includes pants, co-ord sets, kurtis, tops, and fusion wear designed specifically for the modern Indian consumer.
We are looking for a highly creative and market-driven Fashion Designer who understands the Indian fashion landscape deeply and can create trend-setting products that become category leaders and hero products for the brand.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and forecast upcoming fashion trends across the Indian women's wear market.
• Design innovative fusion wear, ethnic-fusion styles, co-ord sets, tops, kurtis, bottoms, and new product categories aligned with evolving consumer preferences.
• Identify emerging fashion movements from premium brands, marketplaces, social media, influencers, and global trends, and adapt them for the Indian mass-premium market.
• Develop unique product concepts that can become hero products and create a distinct identity for Aruwa Fashion.
• Analyze customer behavior across different Indian regions and understand fabric, color, silhouette, and styling preferences state-wise.
• Work closely with sourcing, production, merchandising, and marketing teams to bring concepts from idea to launch.
• Create mood boards, design sheets, tech packs, trims, embellishment concepts, and collection stories.
• Recommend suitable fabrics, prints, textures, washes, and construction techniques based on seasonality and regional demand.
• Monitor competitors, emerging brands, and fashion startups to identify white-space opportunities.
• Build collections that balance trend, wearability, comfort, and commercial viability.
• Contribute to product innovation that helps establish new trends rather than simply follow existing ones.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design from a recognized institute.
• 2+ years of experience in Women's Wear, Fusion Wear, Ethnic Wear, Contemporary Indian Wear, or D2C Fashion Brands.
• Strong understanding of Indian fashion consumers across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 markets.
• Deep knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, silhouettes, fits, trims, embellishments, and textile sourcing.
• Strong awareness of regional fashion preferences and fabric demand across different Indian states.
• Ability to identify future trends before they become mainstream.
• Strong sketching, design development, and collection planning skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar design software.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to create products that can scale and drive revenue.
