The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and merchandising apparel products for Wellversed, with a particular focus on activewear, athleisure, gymwear and fitness-led merchandise. The role requires a strong fashion design sensibility along with an understanding of fabrics, silhouettes, garment construction, fit, sampling, vendor coordination and product execution.
The candidate will be responsible for translating Wellversed’ brand philosophy into wearable apparel products that are visually distinctive, functionally relevant and commercially viable. They will work across trend research, moodboarding, range planning, design development, fabric selection, tech pack creation, sampling, fit review, vendor coordination and launch readiness.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (KRAs):
• Product research and benchmarking across activewear, athleisure, gymwear, sportswear and fitness merchandise categories to identify product gaps, consumer preferences, design directions and category opportunities..
• Design & Develop apparel product concepts such as T-shirts, oversized tees, compression wear, joggers, shorts, hoodies, caps, socks and other merchandise products.
• Create sketches, CADs, graphics, design sheets, basic tech packs, branding placements, trims and detailing for vendor execution.• Identify, source and evaluate suitable fabrics, trims, labels, packaging materials and branding applications.
• Define & evaluate on quality parameters for fabric, fit, stitching, printing, embroidery, trims, labelling, packaging and final finishing.
• Ensure that the final products are aligned with the brand’s design language, consumer use case, quality standards and commercial objectives.
• Cross-functional coordination with brand, design, procurement, operations and leadership teams for implementation and launch readiness.
