Job description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Fashion Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and execution of women’s western wear, with a strong portfolio showcasing their creativity and expertise in this niche. This role involves conceptualising, designing, and overseeing the production of our western wear collections, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand’s vision and meets the highest standards of quality.
• Key Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Develop original and trendsetting designs for women’s western wear, including dresses, tops, skirts, and outerwear.
- Trend Research: Stay up-to-date with current fashion trends, market demands, and competitor analysis to inform design decisions.
- Technical Skills: Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for each design. Collaborate with pattern makers and seamstresses to ensure accurate execution.
- Material Selection: Choose fabrics, colors, and materials that align with design concepts and maintain quality standards.
- Sample Review: Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to ensure the final product meets design specifications and quality standards.
- Collection Development: Assist in the development of seasonal collections, including brainstorming concepts, creating mood boards, and presenting designs to the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other designers, merchandisers, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive product lines and successful launches.
- Production Oversight: Monitor the production process to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently, resolving any issues that arise.
• Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in fashion design, specifically focused on women’s western wear.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and a clear understanding of women’s western fashion.
- Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop), strong sketching and drawing skills, and knowledge of garment construction techniques.
- Creativity: Ability to generate innovative design ideas and translate them into compelling fashion pieces.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in overseeing design elements and ensuring high standards of quality.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members.
