Job description
Job Overview:We are seeking a creative, organized, and passionate Fashion Design Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Fashion Design Assistant, you will work closely with our designers to bring collections to life, assist in design development, and contribute to the overall creative process. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry and grow in a fast-paced, creative environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the creation and development of designs, from concept to final product.Prepare sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings using software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.Support in sourcing fabrics, trims, and materials for collections.Research fashion trends, colors, and fabrics to inspire new collections and create mood boards.Organize and coordinate sample production with manufacturers and suppliers.Assist in fittings and ensure garments are designed and executed to perfection.Prepare presentations and materials for design reviews and client meetings.Maintain fabric, trim, and material libraries.Collaborate with pattern makers, sample makers, and production teams to ensure designs meet quality standards.Participate in photoshoots, fashion shows, and events as needed, assisting with styling and coordination.Assist with administrative tasks like managing schedules, tracking orders, and organizing design archives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.Strong sketching and illustration skills, both by hand and digitally.Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and sewing is a plus.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Passionate about fashion and staying updated on the latest trends.Experience:1-2 years of experience in fashion design, internships, or relevant roles in the fashion industry preferred.Benefits:Competitive salary and growth opportunities.Exposure to the fashion industry’s inner workings and chance to work on exciting projects.Creative and collaborative work environment.Networking opportunities within the fashion community.This job description can be adjusted based on the specific needs of the fashion brand or company you're hiring for!
