What do you need to do? (Role and Responsibilities)
• Researching and analysing current fashion trends, fabric types, and patterns to come up with fresh and relevant design ideas.
• Collaborating with artisans and textile mills to create unique, high-quality fabrics that align with the brand's vision.
• Developing sketches and creating detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software for textile and clothing designs.
• Selecting suitable fabrics, colors, and embellishments to be used in the final product.
• Working with the production team to ensure that designs and fabrics can be produced efficiently and within budget.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of the textile and fashion industry and keeping upto-date with industry developments and trends.
• Participating in the sample-making process and making necessary adjustments to designs. Who could you be?
Background and Experience :
• You have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• You have a degree in Fashion Designing from a recognized university
• You have a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Passion for creating unique and high-quality clothing, designs and fabrics
• Experience working with artisans and unique looms would be highly advantageous.
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills

Job description
• The prime role of a Professor is to provide strong academic leadership.
• The Professor is required to lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities.
• Maintain the general discipline of the students and staff of the Department.
• To oversee the smooth functioning of the department and ensuring consistent provision for academic ambiance.
• To manage and motivate all departmental staff, to enable the students to receive skilled education in the subject, in a positive, encouraging and effective working environment.
• To ensure the development of the Curriculum to keep up to date with relevant changes and to encourage a wide range of activities to learn the subject with practical skill.
• Responsible for designing the regulations, curriculum, and syllabi.
• To attend meetings when required by Senior Management.
• Prepare the annual budget in consultation with Dean of the School for the financial year and submit to the Registrar before the end of January of each year with necessary justification for the proposed additional laboratory spaces, if any and procurement of equipment, machinery, instrument, computer, software, etc.
• Appoint Class committees, Class Advisors, Faculty Advisors, etc. for the department and arrange to make teaching-learning student centric.
• Arrange to pass the semester end examinations results by the Class Committee and forward it to the Controller of Examination / Dean, Academic Courses for publication and record.
• Propose new programs/courses and increase the in intake in consultation with Dean of the School and faculty.
• Oversee the teaching performance, research activities and funded projects of all faculty of his/her department.
• Organize Seminars / Conferences / Symposium /Workshop / training programmes in topics of relevance and importance to the department with financial support from external agencies.
• Be responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the Department in line with Faculty and University strategic plans and direction
• Promote the visibility of the University both internally and externally.
• To ensure all essential resource material is available for use as required.
• Carry out any other function as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
• B. Design in Fashion Design
• M. Design in Fashion Design
• Must have a PhD degree
• Should have a teaching experience of at least 10 years at the University level
• Must have held an administrative role in the past
• Good communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Must have a sound knowledge of software like Tuka 3D and Tuka CAD
