Job Description

MaKami College offers students in-person, online, and blended programs in Massage Therapy, Health Care Aide, Business Administrative Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, and more. This position has primary responsibility to patrol campus, facilities and grounds; to observe, report and investigate incidents, ensuring the security and safety of property, staff and students.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following):
• Promote appropriate behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff
• Respond to the emergency situations, provide first aid, and alert additional police or emergency personnel as appropriate
• Help to coordinate emergency plans
• Write and submit incident reports as required
Education and Experience
• Alberta basic security training certificate and licensed through Alberta solicitor general
• Standard First Aid, Level C CPR and AED certificate
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in security and/or related industry
Skills and Competencies
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and power point
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
Personal Characteristics
• High level of integrity and honesty
• Strong strategically focused analytical skills and capacity to provide leadership
• Conflict resolution and negotiating skills
• Display a professional appearance and professional and positive working relationship with co-workers and students
• Approachable, positive, respectful and courteous

• Critical thinker and problem solver
