We are looking for an experienced Export-Import Logistics and Documentation Manager to independently manage international shipments, freight coordination, customs-clearance activities and complete import-export documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate export and import shipments by sea, air, courier and road
• Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions and other shipment documents
• Coordinate shipping bills, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, inspection certificates and related documents
• Ensure documents comply with purchase orders, customer instructions and letter-of-credit conditions
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, warehouses and inspection agencies
• Obtain and compare freight quotations and negotiate suitable rates
• Book containers and cargo space while monitoring vessel schedules, cut-off dates and documentation deadlines
• Track shipments from dispatch through final delivery and provide regular updates
• Coordinate inbound shipments, customs clearance, duty documentation and delivery
• Review supplier documents before import dispatch
• Review letters of credit and prepare discrepancy-free bank-submission documents
• Coordinate with banks and the finance team regarding export collections and import payments
• Control avoidable freight, storage, demurrage and detention expenses
• Maintain complete shipment records for compliance, audits and claims
• Resolve documentation discrepancies, customs queries and shipment delays
• Coordinate with sales, sourcing, operations, logistics and finance teams
Required Experience And Skills
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in export-import logistics and documentation
• Practical experience managing both sea and air shipments
• Strong knowledge of export and import documentation
• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers and shipping lines
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, letters of credit, international payment terms and customs procedures
• Ability to independently manage shipments from booking through final delivery
• Strong freight-cost comparison and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Good written and spoken English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email, online shipping portals and ERP or documentation systems
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Background
Experience in steel, metals or piping materials will be an advantage but is not mandatory .
Candidates from engineering products, machinery, chemicals, industrial equipment, manufacturing, trading, freight forwarding or other import-export industries are encouraged to apply.
