Position: Professional Server
Type: Full-time/Part-time (Evenings, Weekends & Holidays Required)
Location: Bonterra Trattoria, Calgary
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage + gratuities, staff dining benefits

Bonterra Trattoria is a critically-acclaimed Italian restaurant renowned for its authentic regional cuisine, extensive award-winning wine program, and commitment to exemplary hospitality. As a cornerstone of Calgary's dining scene, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences through flawless execution and warm, knowledgeable service.
The Role:
We seek an accomplished server with demonstrated fine dining experience to join our service team. This position demands:
Service Excellence Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience in upscale/fine dining environments
Expert-level knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine service protocols
Mastery of full dining room service sequencing (from amuse to digestif)
Ability to confidently recommend wine pairings from our wine menu
Impeccable tableside manner including proper crumbing, decanting, and finishing techniques
Operational Standards:
Complete command of POS systems (OpenTable, Sevenshifts experience preferred)
Meticulous attention to table maintenance and service timing
Ability to gracefully manage 5-7 table sections during peak service
Thorough understanding of dietary restrictions and allergy protocols
Professional Attributes:
Impeccable personal presentation and grooming standards
Command of professional service language and etiquette
Emotional intelligence to read and adapt to guest preferences
Team-oriented mindset with ability to support colleagues seamlessly
