Details: The Justice and Community Safety Directorate (JACS) is seeking applications from experienced senior executives to fill the role of Executive Group Manager (EGM), Community Safety Policy and Programs (CSPP). The successful applicant will be offered a five-year contract.

CSPP is primarily responsible for the development and coordination of strategic advice and programs on matters of community safety that prevent crime, reduce the likelihood of reoffending, increase the security of government, community spaces and people, and manage the consequences of, and recovery from events, emergencies and disasters. CSPP has a whole of government focus and works closely with security and emergency personnel in all directorates. CSPP also provides high level policy advice and secretariat support to several whole of Government committees that coordinate security and emergency matters across the ACT.

As a key member of the JACS Executive, the EGM provides high-level advice, briefings, reports and correspondence to the JACS Senior Executive, the Minister and Cabinet. The ideal candidate will have extensive strategic leadership experience in security or emergency management, or related government or non-government organisations.

The position operates within a security context and is often required to handle sensitive, confidential and classified materials and information. As a Designated Security Assessed Position, the successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance (NEGVET2 - Secret).

Eligibility/Other Requirements: This position requires the occupant(s) to be an Australian citizen who can obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV2 security clearance, which will be sponsored by the Justice and Community Safety Directorate. If screening is not successful, your employment will not commence or, if already commenced, your employment will be reassessed.

A standard driver’s license is essential.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $377,954 - $389,635 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $333,737.

Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
