The Role Responsibilities
• The liabilities team lead is responsible for managing the implementation of the Liabilities strategy in the respective Zone.
• Responsible to originate and build Liabilities business for the allotted region. The target companies should be large corporates from Local Corporates, Middle Market, eCommerce and from MNCs who are not banked already by Standard Chartered Group.
• Work closely with coverage & Product partners and align with the business strategy.
• Responsible for building a new team of Relationship Managers who can exponentially grow the CASA balance for the business segment.

Business
• Responsible for originating clients with Liabilities focus.
• Responsible for delivery of agreed business performance targets (avg. CASA balance, Revenue, NTBs, costs, etc.) for the liabilities team in the respective Zone.
• Build a quality team and in this regard bring the top talents for this business from the best performing team in the business segment/target client segment.
• Responsible for the proper management of client relationships, client service and and ensuring the fair treatment of CCIB clients in the respective Zone.
• Work with other product partners (TB / FM) to identify opportunities and cross-sell products.
• Work closely with Cash Specialists/Product experts/Technology experts to build solutions to the clients Cash Management business.
• Run successful campaigns, organise client events, identify good events to become Partners and bring huge visibility in the market for Standard Chartered and its Cash Management Products.
• Take the lead in identifying ******** and implied client needs, engaging key influencers and decision makers, developing solutions and leading proposals and pitches to clients.
• Understand the local markets in terms of size, share, structure, potential, customer segmentation, buyer behaviour and competitor analysis
• Work on Market Intelligence to provide inputs to Product teams, generate New Ideas and highlight Product Gaps.
• Map out client ecosystem and identify opportunities to bank the ecosystem- Play an active role in credit & other approvals.

Processes
• Responsible for oversight of CCIB (CC) owned processes in the Zonal liabilities team as defined by the Group’s process universe, and any locally required processes or deviations.
• Responsible for management of risk arising in from all CCIB (CC) processes.
• Responsible for the integrity of client data within the respective Zone as it relates to CCIB (CC) processes.
• Ensure delivery of Business strategy in a safe and well-controlled manner and on an end-to-end basis – incorporating infrastructure requirements and ensuring that they are fit-for-growth.
• Responsible for identifying and recommending appropriate changes to streamline transaction journeys of CCIB clients, being aware and understanding of the bank’s processes relevant for the job role.

People and Talent
• Responsible for managing and recruiting / staff and building an effective management team capable of delivering the CCIB liabilities strategy.
• Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing to meet the business objectives, strong talent identification, performance management, fit & proper assessments, training and development activities.
• Responsible for continuously guiding the team on the Key Results area.
• Develop the knowledge of the team on Cash Management, latest technology/platforms and client engagement models.
• Responsible for supervision of Liabilities CCIB staff in the respective Zone to Group conduct standards.
• Ensure that mandatory trainings / e-Learnings have been completed by all direct and indirect staff in the Zone.
• Ensure that all staff have clear and balanced performance objectives.
• Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Encourage an open and transparent environment by supporting the Speaking Up Policy.
• Ensure that the Liabilities CCIB business within the respective Zone is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite framework and that risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with the direct reports and other stakeholders.
• Responsible for management of financial crime, specifically for customer due diligence of clients within the Zonal liabilities team.
• Responsible for identification and management of Conflicts of Interest within CCIB through the Zonal liabilities team.
• Proactively identify risks associated with the business and contribute to introduce appropriate mitigants, being aware and understanding of the bank’s risk appetite, controls in place.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Ensure risks relating to CCIB are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated where appropriate to relevant risk committees.
• Ensure any audit and compliance issues relating to the business are resolved in a timely manner.
• Responsible for business continuity management of CCIB in the Zonal liabilities team.

Governance
• Ensure adherence to all Internal & External Regulations; Risk Monitoring as an integral part of the Business Process
• Ensure that the business meets its obligation under group policy and standards and under the local laws and regulation
• Manage all sales related activities through effective use of Work Bench (our CRM suite)

Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the Zonal liabilities team. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Lead the Zonal liabilities team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Significant Corporate Banking sales experience ideally in the building liabilities business in an international/ regional environment preferably with an excellent understanding of the market competitive landscape in the country.
• Strong knowledge of legal, economic and regulatory environment in the country as well as other key trading corridors.
• Strong leadership qualities, able to articulate and communicate the growing ambition and goals for the business both internally and externally.
• In depth understanding of Regulation associated with Domestic and cross borders flows.
• The ability to understand the working capital cycle of the customer and associated digitisation opportunities.
