Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our Evidence Management team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in systems administration, scripting, data handling, or digital evidence platforms.

This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity based in either our Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) offices.

The Systems Administrator provides specialist systems support for the Commission's digital evidence and investigation platforms. You'll ensure our evidence systems are secure, reliable, and optimised to support concurrent investigations, discovery, and litigation activity.

This role combines technical troubleshooting, scripting, data processing, and application management. You will work closely with the rest of the Evidence Team, investigators and legal staff, IS Operations, and our external application vendors to ensure the integrity, availability, and scalability of our core evidence management systems.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide application support for Intella and RelativityOne, including upload, process, and export workflows.
Troubleshoot application failures and diagnose system faults.
Optimise performance configuration.
Support implementation of predictive coding and AI-driven workflows.
Assist with scripting and prompting for automation tasks.
Learn and support eDiscovery and prosecution processes using RelativityOne, and Intella.
Manage system performance, monitoring, and operational processes such as incident response, reporting and update testing.
Working closely with IS Operations on infrastructure, access controls, storage scaling, and disaster recovery readiness.
Providing technical training, documentation, and guidance to Evidence Team colleagues, investigators, and legal staff.
Acting as a technical liaison with application vendors and partner agencies for issues, upgrades, and service improvement.
The indicative salary range for this role is $94,025 - $110,618 plus a 3.5% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed to a starting salary that reflects their skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.

If you have the following skills and attributes, you could be a great fit for this role:

Technical support experience within a sizeable organisation
Coding knowledge in Apache/Groovy, Python, and Java
Understanding of file format structures (UFDR familiarity is a bonus)
Experience with evidence management systems (advantageous but not essential)
Strong technical aptitude with a curiosity for complex problem-solving
Ability to teach technical concepts and support others to build capability, for example documenting technical detail in a manner that new users can understand
Interest in investigations, evidence, and data forensics
