Applications for the 2026 Evergreen Program open on Thursday 12 March 2026 and close on Thursday * April 2026.
The Evergreen Program is only open to Australians of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. It is a full time 12 month development program where upon successful completion, you will be advanced to the next classification level (APS 3) with a pay increase.

As part of the program, you'll have the opportunity to work in various areas of the ATO. The program is designed to develop your skills through case work for various market segments, administrative support in business and customer service activities in a call centre environment.

These roles may be located in Adelaide, Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Gosford, Melbourne CBD, Newcastle, Perth, Townsville or Upper Mount Gravatt.

To be eligible for the Evergreen Program, you must provide confirmation of your Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage.

You must provide us with documentation from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander incorporated organisation. The document must confirm or endorse that you:

are an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person, or both an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person identifying as an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person
are accepted by your community as being an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person.
