The firm plays a key role in curating luxury experiences for and offering heritage venues to clients from across the sectors of tourism, hospitality, events, MICE, wedding and entertainment. The firm is also responsible for curating and organising all events and experiences offered under the aegis of any of the affiliate organisations of the Sawai Jaipur group, including but not limited to heritage festivals and celebrations, event IPs, brand collaboration events, etc.
Position Overview The Banqueting Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of all banqueting and dining events hosted at SJE's heritage venues. From ******** private dinners to large-scale wedding feasts and heritage galas, this role ensures that every banqueting experience reflects the grandeur, cultural richness, and service excellence that defines the City Palace and its affiliated venues.
The Banqueting
Manager works closely with culinary, events, and operations teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities ● Event Planning & Execution ○ Plan, coordinate, and oversee all banqueting events including weddings, corporate dinners, cultural celebrations, and private functions across SJE venues. Develop detailed event orders and function sheets in coordination with clients and internal teams. ○ Ensure all setups, décor, tableware, and service standards are executed to the highest quality and aligned with the heritage aesthetic of the venue. ● Guest Experience & Service Standards ○ Deliver a premium, personalised guest experience throughout all banqueting events, ensuring seamless service from arrival to departure. ○ Brief and supervise service staff before each event to ensure consistent delivery of SJE's service standards. ○ Handle guest feedback and on-site requests with composure and efficiency. ● Team Management & Coordination ○ Lead and manage the banqueting team including supervisors, stewards, and support staff. ○ Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, décor, and events operations teams to ensure integrated event delivery. ○ Conduct regular briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews for banqueting staff. ● Vendor & Resource Management ○ Liaise with approved vendors for furniture, linen, flowers, lighting, and other banqueting requirements. ○ Manage inventory of banqueting equipment and ensure timely maintenance and replenishment. ○ Oversee the setup and breakdown of banqueting spaces in accordance with event schedules. ● Financial & Administrative Management ○ Prepare banqueting cost estimates, assist in pricing, and track expenditure against event budgets. ○ Maintain accurate records of all events, billing, and client correspondence. ○ Identify opportunities to enhance revenue through upselling of premium packages and add-on services.
Qualifications and Experience ● Degree or diploma in Hotel Management from a recognised institution. ● Minimum 3–5 years of experience in banqueting or food & beverage operations, preferably in a luxury hotel, palace hotel, or premium heritage venue. ● Strong knowledge of banqueting service styles, fine dining protocols, and food & beverage operations.
Experience managing large-scale events including weddings and MICE banquets is an advantage.
