We are looking for a data scientist to drive our research and development efforts to enable OpenInvest to deliver highly personalized financial solutions on a large scale. As a leading provider of values-based data-driven financial products, you will join our team to advance our AI initiatives by enhancing existing products and creating new ones applying data science. This will involve leveraging various techniques such as data visualization, data optimization and algorithms, and language models.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct research and development of new and existing technologies to scale OpenInvest's AI initiatives
Lead and contribute to projects within the OpenInvest Investment Research Development team, collaborating closely with other team members
Collaborate cross-functionally with OpenInvest's engineering, product, and research teams to identify areas where data science can be applied effectively
Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, integral data engineering and project planning
Manage release, rollout, and deployment of R&D products
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
4 - 8 years of experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Data Science/Machine Learning, and Software Engineering
Proficient in Python and comfortable using relevant frameworks and libraries
Strong experience in SQL for querying databases
Possess an analytical, statistical, and broadly quantitative mindset
Able to seamlessly switch between research, development, and product management, ensuring successful research and development in real-world applications
Demonstrate initiative and autonomy, with a proven ability to contribute effectively in group conversations
Confident in sharing constructive feedback to colleagues across the hierarchy
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Experience with optimization techniques, learning algorithms, classification and regression techniques, natural language processing
Experience with deploying machine learning models at scale
Ability to articulate technical subjects to non-technical people
