Engineering Technologist – Metal Fabrication & Manufacturing
Job Description
Working closely with the Director, Operations Manager, workshop team and suppliers, you will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, assessing fabrication methods, coordinating production requirements and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare concept, approval and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor and SOLIDWORKS.
Produce bills of materials, production documentation and technical specifications.
Assess manufacturability, fabrication methods, assembly requirements and installation practicality.
Coordinate with workshop staff, suppliers and subcontractors.
Support quotation preparation and project planning.
Review and revise drawings to suit site conditions and project changes.
Contribute to improving drawing standards, engineering procedures and CAD systems.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar (AQF Level 7 or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as Inventor and SOLIDWORKS.
Strong understanding of metal fabrication, manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
Ability to interpret architectural, builder and structural drawings.
Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
