Now part of the Stratco Group and operating from one of New Zealand’s best-equipped sheetmetal fabrication facilities, Davin combines state-of-the-art production technology with craftsmanship to complete assignments ranging from prototypes through to volume production runs.
Working closely with the Sales Manager and Technical Manager, the Customer Engineering Coordinator is the primary technical contact between our customers and Davin. This role is responsible for understanding customer requirements and translating them into accurate manufacturing data, enabling efficient quoting, production planning, and successful delivery.
The position works across the entire project lifecycle—from initial customer enquiries and quotation support through to manufacturing and delivery—ensuring customer expectations are met while supporting efficient and cost-effective production.
Key responsibilities
Act as the primary technical liaison for customers, building strong relationships and develop an understanding of customer products and operational requirments
Review and interpret customer 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to confirm design intent and manufacturing requirements
Apply Design For Manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure components can be produced efficiently, reliably and cost effectively
Collaborate with manufacturing and technical teams to determine appropriate process methods and production times to support accurate quotations
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
ABOUT YOU
Essential - Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent CAD skills and 3D SolidWorks proficiency
Experience preparing BOM's and working in a technical/engineering capacity
Demonstrated knowledge and experience gained within a manufacturing environment - exposure to machining/fabrication sectors preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
