Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of all hotel engineering systems and equipment to ensure the highest standards of guest comfort, safety, and operational efficiency. The role supports uninterrupted hotel operations while maintaining compliance with hotel standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Carry out preventive maintenance as per the approved maintenance schedule.
Attend to guest room, public area, and back-of-house maintenance requests promptly.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and civil-related issues.
Plant & Equipment Operations
Monitor the operation of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, water treatment plants, elevators, fire protection systems, and electrical panels.
Conduct routine inspections and report abnormalities immediately.
Ensure all engineering equipment operates at optimum efficiency.
Guest Service
Respond promptly to guest complaints related to maintenance issues.
Ensure guest rooms are maintained to luxury hotel standards.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office to minimize guest inconvenience.
Safety & Compliance
Follow hotel safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
Comply with local statutory regulations, fire safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Participate in fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
Documentation
Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, equipment history, and preventive maintenance records.
Update daily engineering reports.
Report equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.
Energy Management
Monitor utility consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
Ensure efficient use of electricity, water, gas, and HVAC systems.
Support sustainability and green building initiatives.
Experience
1–5 years of experience in hotel engineering, hospitality, or facility maintenance.
Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is preferred.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of HVAC systems
Electrical distribution systems
Plumbing and sanitary systems
Fire alarm and fire-fighting systems
Diesel generators and UPS systems
Water treatment and sewage treatment plants
Basic Building Management System (BMS) operations
Preventive maintenance planning
Basic computer skills (MS Office, CMMS preferred)
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
