Embedded System Software Engineer

Techno-Sciences is currently looking for an embedded system software engineer to design, implement and maintain our next generation Reference Beacon as part of our Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) systems. The Reference Beacon is an advanced and versatile equipment with fully programable scenarios for evaluation and testing of SARSAT ground stations performance. In addition, the successful candidate will work as part of an experienced and growing engineering team on a variety of challenging projects and activities focused largely on embedded software development spanning the entire engineering lifecycle from research and development to maintenance. TSi has developed its own MEOSAR solution and will continue to maintain, improve, and refine its solution as the MEOSAR system adopts new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Embedded software development for next generation MEOSAR technologies

• Develop and support embedded firmware

• Testing and troubleshooting of components

• UI development to interface to backend software

• Proficiency in lab equipment such as signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

• Candidates must be able to work independently and as a member of a team

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor / Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications or Computer Engineering

• Experience: 3 to 5 Years (experienced, non-manager)

• C, C++, C#, and Python language experience and proficiency

• Experience designing PCB with Eagle or any other PCB design software

• Knowledge of RF modulation techniques: BPSK, QPSK, spread spectrum etc.

• Knowledge of PLL, DAC’s, attenuators, VCO etc.

• Knowledge of protocols: SPI, I2C, UART

• Knowledge of micro-controllers: Arduino, Texas Instruments

• Experience with Linux ubuntu

Additional Knowledge/Skills/Experience that would be helpful:

• User Interface (UI) development

• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java

• Knowledge of FPGAs

• Basic SQL Knowledge

• Experience in signals and signal transmission

• Experience in RF signal processing

• Basic knowledge of analysis tools
