Electronic Trading and Quantitative Analyst
Job Description
At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?
In this role, you will support institutional clients by providing electronic trading coverage across ANZ and global equity markets working closely with trading, sales, and technology teams as a quantitative link between them, making sure our algorithms behave as intended and perform well in live markets. A big part of this is researching market microstructure and trading dynamics, monitoring execution quality through transaction cost analysis, and using those insights to continually improve our trading models and execution strategies.
You will take a consultative, content led approach with clients, translating complex quantitative and technical concepts into practical advice they can act on. That includes responding to client queries, building bespoke analysis or research where needed, and contributing to broader initiatives around technology, data, and AI in the execution workflow. Our team maintain a strong focus on risk management, controls, and operational discipline to ensure everything operates safely and effectively in a global institutional trading environment.
What you offer
An academic background in finance, economics, mathematics, physics, computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative discipline
Relevant experience or internship exposure in electronic execution, execution analytics, or quantitative analysis within equities
Solid foundation in quantitative analysis and technology, with a strong desire to learn and a demonstrated interest in electronic trading, algorithmic execution, and market structure
Interest in AI, data, and content development within a trading context
Proficiency (or developing proficiency) in programming languages such as Python, C#, SQL Server, R, or similar
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and succinctly.
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
