JOB TITLE: Electronics Test Technician
DEPARTMENT: Production
LOCATION: 130 6285 76 Ave S.E. Calgary, AB, T2C 5L9 Canada
SCHEDULE: Day shift: 6:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am (Monday - Friday)
JOB TYPE: Full Time - Permanent

The Opportunity
Looking for a solution focused Electronics Test Technician to join the team. You will be responsible for ensuring customer’s test plan and procedures are performed to specifications, while remaining attentive to identify / implement opportunities for improvement. This position will require development of relationships with key internal and external customers to resolve test issues in a timely manner, reduce risk, and improve overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Set-up, debug, program, and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components and circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
Efficiently troubleshoot assembled Printed Circuit Board test failures and correctly identify root cause
Program and operate equipment used for rework / repair of PCBAs
Create and maintain programs for X-ray inspection and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems
Analysis and correlate inspection, test yield, and defect data to drive product and process improvements
Develop documented test set-up, test equipment / fixture maintenance, and test operating procedures
Provide training and validation of training to employees on inspection and product test equipment operation
Participate in Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives
Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to eliminate human error
Write and present reports to senior management and customers explaining objectives, conclusions, experiment results, and recommendations
Requirements

Completion of an Associate Degree in Electronics
2-5 years of experience in an Electronics Manufacturing environment is an asset
QMS training and experience
Strong desire to learn and continually develop
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Software programming experience is an asset
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail / precision
Strong initiative to accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
