Electrician - Shift
Job Description
Based in Hokitika and reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Manager, we are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our electrical team and work closely with the site teams to maintain all plants on-site and to ensure all electrical equipment complies with electrical standards. The role will also carry out works in conjunction with automation, engineering, packing techs, reliability and other electrical staff/contractors to ensure plant reliability and performance, in addition to completing all electrical servicing repairs and maintenance to the highest possible standard.
This role will work 12.25hr shifts 0445am -1700pm (rostered 4 days on 4 days off)
Key responsibilities:
Electrical maintenance on all plants
Upholding compliance and best practices to assigned areas
Fault finding on equipment + predictive and preventative maintenance
Panel wiring, construction and installation of site-wide electrical equipment
Assistance with instrumentation and calibration related requirements where possible
Labour management including other electricians, apprentices and subcontractors
Liaising with other trades and project leaders during contract works.
Dealing with a wide range of people and management in all levels of the workplace and -contracting industry.
Ordering and receiving of materials and parts.
Health & Safety and QA compliance and documentation
Ensuring all work orders get completed on time and filled out in detail.
The occasional ability to be on call or work the odd night shift
Skills and Experience:
National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrician) Level 4.
Experience across a broad range of industrial electrical equipment.
The ability to perform electrical maintenance of commercial and industrial facilities.
The ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
Commitment and self-motivation, with very good organisational and housekeeping skills
Experience in instrumentation and calibration – preferred/beneficial.
Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
Experience in hazardous areas and machine safety preferred
