Job Purpose
Duties to include but not limited to conducting design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, and manufacturing of assigned products. Good communication skills are necessary, working with suppliers, Honda factories and other groups within Honda R&D is expected. Work with higher level engineers and experts to ensure components and parts assigned achieve layout, quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements are met. Travel could be required to other Honda facilities and suppliers not limited to North America.
Key Accountabilities
Draft engineering solutions for an assigned component or parts and the associated drawings and 3D layouts. Confirm and track the feasibility, costs, quality, and performance.
Under the guidance of more senior engineers to confirm designs for an assigned components or parts then present at team evaluations, inform manufacturing, technical evaluators and / or suppliers.
Preparation of Documents for evaluations. (Cost, Checklists, Technical and Styling feasibility).
Project and supplier management.
Customer and market studies of new technologies.
Self-improvement and training.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
0-6 years of relevant experience.
CATIA V5, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
Working Conditions
Sitting 80%, Standing 10%, Walking 10%. OT may be necessary at times, 5%-10% typical.
Travel could be required to other Honda facilities and suppliers not limited to North America.
