AKA has been supporting tamariki and whānau across Tāmaki Makaurau since 1908. Today, our network of 112 kindergartens and centres delivers inclusive, high-quality early childhood education grounded in Te Whāriki and guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The Role
We are seeking a full-time, permanent kaiako who will contribute to the high level of service we are proud to provide our local community.
As part of our experienced and collaborative team, you will:
Demonstrate a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and confidently lead bicultural practice
Integrate ICT in meaningful ways to enhance teaching and learning
Build respectful, reciprocal relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community
Deliver high-quality planning, assessment and documentation
Champion inclusive practice and value the rich diversity of our community
Weave sustainability and a passion for nature into everyday learning experiences

You will:
Be flexible, reflective and able to work both collaboratively and independently
Have a deep understanding of play-based learning
Be inclusive and responsive to the diverse learning requirements of all ākonga
Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Be committed to ongoing professional growth
To uphold the professional standards of Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA), applicants must be a qualified and registered ECE kaiako in Aotearoa New Zealand and hold a current First Aid certificate.
Salary and employment conditions for this position are in accordance with the relevant Kindergarten Teachers’ Collective Agreement 2023-2026.
