Job Description
Shape the future of Banyule’s youngest community members through quality early childhood education
Make a meaningful difference in children’s early years by joining a supportive and passionate team. In this role, you’ll deliver a high-quality education and care program for children from birth to 6 years, aligned with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and National Quality Standards. You’ll work in a collaborative, child-safe environment that values best practice and continuous improvement, with access to professional development and opportunities to increase hours throughout the week.

As a Certificate III Early Childhood Educator, you’ll work Mondays and Fridays (16 hours per week, 1-hour unpaid lunch break), delivering safe, high-quality education and care for children from birth to 6 years. You’ll help create positive learning experiences, build respectful relationships with families, and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment aligned with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy and Child Safe Standards. You’ll work across a rotating roster, with shifts scheduled between 6:45 am and 6:15 pm over a four-week cycle.
What you will do:
Provide safe, high-quality education and care in line with the National Law, Regulations and National Quality Standards
Support children’s learning through observations, learning records and engaging program experiences
Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families, supporting daily routines and communication
Actively supervise children and maintain a safe, secure and child-focused environment
Work collaboratively with the team to support centre policies, procedures and continuous improvement
What you'll bring/what we are looking for
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent qualification
Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
Ability to maintain clear written records and contribute to documentation relating to children’s learning and development
Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements and awareness of the diverse cultural needs of families
Pre-employment requirements
CPR / First Aid
Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) (Previously known as a police check)
Current Working with Children’s Check
We offer:
A permanent, part-time role (16 hours per week)
Salary range $29,602.58 to $31,059.92 per annum plus super (dependent on experience). For comparison, at full-time, this is equivalent to $70,306.14 to $73,767.30 per annum
26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner.
Ongoing learning and development opportunities, including health and well-being initiatives
Flexible work and leave arrangement.
