At Hotel Indigo, we welcome all guests into our neighbourhood and share our love for the place we call home. We inspire them to explore and discover different perspectives, so every one of them can create new stories of their own.

Later this year, Auckland will welcome New Zealand’s first Hotel Indigo to the neighbourhood. The “City of Sails” will set the backdrop for this boutique upper-upscale hotel, drawing inspiration from local artists for its design, service, amenities, food and beverage. The 225-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in Auckland Central, with stunning views of the city and Auckland’s iconic harbour.

To help bring Hotel Indigo Auckland to life, we’re on the hunt for a Duty Manager to join our pre-opening Front Office team. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you’ll help establish the Front Office department and support all aspects of hotel operations on shift to deliver a unique guest experience that brings the brand to life. The hotel team will work closely together, so you’ll support all areas of the hotel as needed.

We're looking for someone to start as soon as they're able, with our planned pre-opening getting close! Following opening, the role will transition to an operational role once the hotel opens.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Being part of this pre-opening team will see you setting this beautiful new hotel up ready to receive its first guests
Help and support the set-up of the Front Office department with regards to operational requirements and team development
Once the hotel opens, transitioning to operational responsibilities where you will lead shifts within front office operations including:
Managing guest experiences, team performance and hotel operations
Prioritising workload and ensuring the team delivers authentic, memorable experiences
Driving results that positively impact on hotel performance
Having authentic conversations with guests to resolve issues, queries or concerns
Being the first point of contact for any critical emergency situations.
What we need from you

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Guest Services related position with leadership experience, preferably within a hotel/hospitality environment
Qualifications in Hotel Management and/or in Business Administration related field preferred
Valid (or ability to acquire) NZ General Managers certificate, Liquor license, First Aid Qualifications and Drivers License
Experience using hotel property management and point of sale systems
Passionate about guest services and working as part of a team
